Northland Regional Council - Finalist ALGIM IRM Project of the Year 2022

Northland Regional Council on stage as finalists for ALGIM IRM Project of the year 2022 at the awards ceremony in Ōtautahi, Christchurch in November 2022.

Northland Regional Council (NRC) made the decision to replace their incumbent document management system, Objective, with SharePoint Online.

Over one year on from project go-live, usage statistics show more records are being safely secured and staff report that it is easier to source information that helps inform decision making and getting work done.

Key features of the Document Management Hub and NRC’s new digital workplace include:

  • A single document store for internal business and core systems
  • External collaboration with the many working groups outside of council
  • Document management through SharePoint Online, replacing Council’s incumbent document and record management systems which were no longer fit for purpose
  • The adoption of a ‘Teams-first’ approach that utilises Microsoft Teams (MS Teams) as the primary interface of the digital workplace

The project was delivered on time and on budget, over a nine-month period from design stage starting in December 2020 to go-live in June 2021.

 Congratulations to Northland Regional Council!
