Welcome back to another Microsoft Monthly Update where we summarise some of the latest headlines from Microsoft, so that you don’t have to.

In this update we will look at how AI is strengthening te reo Māori use in mainstream media, how you can get ready for copilot and The Future of Work: Reinventing Productivity with AI.

AI strengthens te reo Māori use at NZ’s largest digital news site

In partnership with Straker and Microsoft, Stuff Group Te Puna are working to increase the number of bilingual articles shared on the platform. Though bilingual articles aren’t new to Stuff, using AI will support the team to translate articles at scale before being reviewed by Stuff’s kaiwhakamāori.

Co-Founder and Chief Executive of Straker, Grant Straker (Ngāti Raukawa) says “…today’s generation of Māori and everyone that comes after will be able to engage with regular news content in their own language.”

SharePoint Online Search Index Issue

There is an ongoing Microsoft SharePoint Online Search Index Issue that has resulted in:

• Users not being able to search for files.
• Events apps not displaying events.
• News apps haven’t been displaying news articles.
• React Content Queries & PnP Search not able to discover the list info or documents they pertain to.
