This is not a caching technology, but instead is true replication of the content to another SharePoint site. No client software is required to be installed.
Syntergy allows you to keep information current across geographic barriers, collaborate in virtual teams across the country and the world.
At the list and site level you can select specific areas that you wish to replicate and the target location for the replication. By setting up two servers talking to each other you have bi-directional replication with conflict resolution. Get more detail here.

Syntergy & Information Leadership... Antarctica New Zealand manages Scott Base, New Zealand’s Antarctic research station, where it supports scientific research and conservation of Antarctica and the Southern Ocean.
They have been working with us to use SharePoint as a primary information and collaboration platform for interaction between their Christchurch head office and Scott Base.
A key challenge faced was how to share information between offices over a low bandwidth (64/256k), high latency (300ms) satellite data-link. Syntergy’s Replicator was chosen as a key technology to achieve this.
Its ability to allow administrators to select which sites, lists and document libraries to synchronise or replicate was a key factor in the decision.
