(a) its much cheaper – you get it free with Windows Server 2003 and just install it
(b) the capital cost and software maintenance is a fraction of the costs of EDRMS but the operating costs can be similar or higher
(c) the design process is much quicker and cheaper with SharePoint – you don’t need the complexity and consulting services that you do for EDRMS implementations
(d) it depends on the size, reliability and nature of what you are trying to achieve
