There is a great book that has just been published called “True Enough - Learning to Live in a Post-Fact Society". It highlights how in the age of information overload we are not thorough but make do in where we get our information from and in fact what we unconciously choose to believe. It is a powerful read because after it you start to question how objective you are and how true some of the “facts” you treat as gospel are.
There is an awful lot to know about SharePoint and there is a full range of views on it. We attended KMWorld in 2008 and 2009 in San Jose, and well, we heard lots there. This ranged from practitioners who are getting huge successes with SharePoint to naysayers of all persuasions - commentators; open source exponents ; KM “gurus” ; non-Microsoft advocates ; recordkeepers.
