Meta is an experienced IT and IM professional, with excellent project leadership and general management capabilities. She has worked widely in IT strategy and systems development, project and site management, business analysis, and database administration roles with private sector companies.

Meta also has a background in the public sector having spent four years as Information Manager at Palmerston North City Council where she had overall responsibility for IT, records and GIS. In this time she successfully managed the implementation of Hummingbird EDRMS, and set the Council's Information Management Policy and Strategy.

In her five years with Information Leadership Meta has been in demand for her pragmatic approach to information problems. This has included a range of EDRMS selection, implementation and review projects; business process management projects; and taxonomy and retention and disposal development.

We used the services of Information Leadership to help us find a solution for our old paper records. 

We worked with Meta Mair who we found to be very practical in her approach.  She had in-depth knowledge of the obligation of government department to Archives NZ and acted as a conduit between ourselves and Archives NZ. 

She reapplied for the review our disposal schedule to change the definition of terms therein using other government disposal schedules as a case study.  This innovative solution that Meta recommended and implemented has saved us potentially millions of dollars in cost for imaging and storage.  

Furthermore, they have provided us with guidance on how to meet the digitisation standards and electronic recordkeeping standards required by Archives NZ. 

We consider Meta Mair an expert in electronic recordkeeping requirements.  She was able to confidently discuss with our IT developers what steps they needed to follow to ensure the standards were met and reasons for why the standards were in place.   She kept us focused and on track with our project plan and was very easy to work with.
