ALGIM Records Symposium 3 July with Sarah Heal
Training and Support Challenges for Local Government

Record keeping compliance is a combination of both system capability and user adoption. Today everyone in your organisation needs to be enlisted in the records management effort.

This paper focuses on how to build the quantity and quality of adoption across your council. This requires new ways of thinking about, and delivering, training and support. It is not sufficient to run training courses and set up a helpdesk and then expect that enduring behaviour change will follow. Sarah will share real world examples and our latest thinking on how you can get the right portfolio of proactive and reactive support and targeted interventions.

Conference Workshop 27 August: Using SharePoint to Support Public Records Act Compliance
Microsoft SharePoint has been generating a lot of interest. With its collaboration features as well as document management functionality many organisations are considering whether this is an appropriate platform for records management. This workshop introduces how you can use SharePoint to assist with your Public Records Act compliance programme.

Conference Paper 29 August: 21st Recordkeeping - Welcome to the New Frontier
In the 21st century, recordkeeping is fundamentally different. These changes include:
a.EDRMS implementations failing as fast as new ones are initiated
b.Email still out of control
c.SharePoint - the IT Manager's nirvana and the recordkeepers curse?
d.'Tick the box' compliance that fails to deliver business value.
e.Web 2.0 tools and Software as a Service

What does this mean for your role? How can you be preparing yourself and your organisation?
